Gravity Mining Corporation is an independent, gold mining company with a diverse, high-quality portfolio of operations, projects and exploration activities across Democratic Republic of Congo.
The overall aim of Gravity Mining Corporation’s strategy is to generate sustainable cash flow improvements and returns over the longer term and, in so doing, to create and preserve value for all our stakeholders.
Our Mission is to create value for our shareholders, our employees and our business, and social partners by safely and responsibly exploring, mining and marketing our products. Our primary focus is gold, but we will pursue value creating opportunities in other minerals where we can leverage our existing assets, skills and experience to enhance the delivery of value.
Kibali, one of the largest gold mines of its kind in Africa, is situated in the DRC, adjacent to the town of Doko and 210km from Arua on the Ugandan border.
The consolidated lease is made up of 10 mining concessions. The metallurgical plant comprises a twin-circuit sulphide and oxide plant with conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL), including gravity recovery as well as a float and ultra-fine grind circuit.
Gravity Mining Corporation operates the mine which comprises both open pit and underground operations.
Gold has many unique qualities – it is exceptionally malleable and ductile, conductive and does not corrode or tarnish. Gold also combines well with other metals to form an alloy. Its versatility makes it ideal for use in many industrial applications, and increasingly, its application as a nanomaterial is being used to create new solutions for a number of health and environmental challenges.
The flotation method is the most widely used ore dressing
method in the production of gold. It has high flotation
efficiency and can handle fine-grain-dipped ore.
For ore with complex composition, the flotation method can
get good separation results. Flotation method is often used
to treat gold ore containing sulfide minerals with high
floatability.
The sulfide ore mainly includes sulfide-depleted gold ore
(mostly quartz vein type or hydrothermal alteration type),
poly sulfide gold ore and polymetallic. auriferous sulfide
ore, the flotation process can maximize the enrichment of
gold into the sulfide mineral, and lower the beneficiation
cost.
Diamond mines can take several different forms, depending on the location and the geology of where the mine is located. The type of mining employed can have a significant impact on the economic viability of the mine, and can ultimately determine if a diamond deposit can be developed or not. Mining, however, must take into account more than just economic considerations.
The most common form of diamond mining takes place in what
is known as an open pit, which is generally the most
cost-effective alternative for large kimberlite deposits. In
open-pit mining, a large carrot-shaped hole is dug in the
ground, starting from its widest point at the surface and
getting gradually narrower at depth.
This type of digging exposes the entire extent of the
diamond-bearing kimberlite so that no ore is missed during
processing. The digging is done in such a way that the
outside walls of the pit form roadways that allow hauling
machinery to travel down to depth safely.
Tin is extracted by roasting the mineral cassiterite with
carbon in a furnace to approximately 2500 degrees
Fahrenheit. The next step involves leaching with acid or
water solutions to remove impurities.
Electrostatic or magnetic separation helps to remove any
heavy metal impurities. Compared to the processes used in
the past, today’s advanced technology allows the industry to
produce ten times more tin.
From toothpaste to window glass to wiring, tin remains an
important material in our world. Past and present uses
demonstrate the importance of the tin mining process.
The cathode is the basic product of copper production. It is produced in a marketable form at Gravity Mining Corporation for use in high-quality applications.
Copper cathodes with specific maximum impurity levels are
also registered and traded on the London Metal Exchange and
the Comex. High-quality copper is distinguished by low
impurity levels, as even the smallest amounts of selenium,
bismuth or antimony in the ppm range can strongly influence
conductivity.
The Gravity Mining Corporation copper cathode brands NA-ESN,
HK, OLEN and PIRDOP are registered on the LME and have a
very high level of purity and constant quality, regardless
of the input materials. These cathodes form the basis for
our high-quality copper products.
